Emadine Eye Drops are prescription medications used to treat eye symptoms caused by allergic conjunctivitis. It prevents the effects of a substance called histamine, produced in certain cells in your eyes and causes the allergic reaction.
To apply Emadine Eye Drops: follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not use Emadine Eye Drops in larger or smaller amounts or longer than recommended.
Before using Emadine Eye Drops, tell your doctor or pharmacist:
Emadine Eye Drops may cause temporary blurred or unstable vision after applying them. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity requiring clear vision until you can safely perform such activities.
Emadine Eye Drops may temporarily sting or burn your eyes for a minute or two when applied. Temporary blurred vision, headache, dry eyes, feeling as if something is in your eye, eye discomfort, staining of the eyes, a bad taste in your mouth, weakness, or unusual dreams may occur. If these effects last or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
A very serious allergic reaction to Emadine Eye Drops rarely happens. However, get medical help immediately if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching/swelling, severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.
How long should the Emadine Eye Drops be used?
Due to rebound effects, some medications must be tapered or cannot be stopped suddenly. Please consult with your doctor about that.
Can you drive while on Emadine Eye Drops?
Emadine eye drops may cause temporarily blurred or unstable vision after you apply them. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity requiring clear vision until you can safely perform such activities.
Can you wear contacts while on Emadine Eye Drops?
Do not use Emadine Eye Drops while wearing contact lenses. Emadine may contain a preservative that can discolor soft contact lenses. Wait at least 10 minutes after using this medicine before putting in your contact lenses.
