Alomide Eye drops are prescription medication for certain eye disorders caused by allergies. It works by acting on certain cells, called mast cells, to prevent them from releasing substances that cause the allergic reaction.

Follow your doctor's directions for the Alomide Eye Drops. To use the Alomide Eye Drops:

• First, wash your hands. Tilt the head back and, pressing your finger gently on the skin just beneath the lower eyelid, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to make a space. Drop the medicine into this space. Let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes. Keep the eyes closed for 1 or 2 minutes to allow the medicine to be absorbed by the eye. Do not blink.
• To keep the medicine germ-free, do not touch the applicator tip on any surface (including the eye). Also, keep the container tightly closed.
• For Alomide Eye Drops to work properly, use them daily in regularly spaced doses as your doctor directed.

Before taking Alomide Eye Drops, tell your doctor if you are allergic to them or any other medications. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not use Alomide Eye Drops while wearing soft contact lenses. A preservative in this medicine could permanently stain the lenses. Wait at least 15 minutes before inserting your contact lenses.

After you apply Alomide Eye Drops, your vision may become temporarily blurred. Do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness or clear vision until you can do it safely.

Alomide Eye Drops may cause common side effects, including:

• Eye burning/stinging/discomfort,
• feeling as if something is in your eye,
• dry nose,
• sneezing,
• headache,
• dizziness,
• drowsiness,
• blurred vision,
• watery eyes,
• dry eyes,
• sticky feeling in the eye, or crusting in the corner of the eye or on the eyelid may occur. 

Tell your doctor right away if any of these rare but very serious side effects occur: eye pain, swelling in or around the eyes, warm feeling in the eye, or vision changes.
